Mothering brings its own challenges. For any liberal-leaning mothers in Florida, the past couple of years have to have been difficult. And even more so if you or your family doesn’t fall under some antiquated definition of a family. Let’s come together as a community and be of support to our families.

Rev. Margalie brought new mothers, experienced mothers and those who do mothering in the world to come forward and share with each other the following prayer:

May the spirit of love and compassion surround you and all who are mothering in Florida, navigating the challenges of mothering school age children and little ones during these trying times. May you find strength and resilience in your role as caregivers, and may your love for your children be a guiding light that helps you overcome any obstacles that come your way.

May our Unitarian Universalism values inspire you to lead with love, empathy, and justice, especially in the face of recent anti-Trans and critical race theory legislation. May you be empowered to speak out against injustice and work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive world for all.

May you find moments of peace and rest amidst the chaos of daily life, and may you be reminded of your own worth and value as a mother and as a human being. May you feel supported and uplifted by your community, and may you know that you are not alone in this journey.

May you and your children be blessed with good health, safety, and happiness, and may you find joy and wonder in the everyday moments of life. May you continue to grow and learn together, and may your bond as a family be strengthened through these challenges.
